A sale has been agreed for West Dorset District Council's former offices in Dorchester.
It's not yet known who's bought Stratton House.
The deal's not been completed and is subject to contract.
The building was put on the market last year for £3.5M but failed to sell.
Leader of West Dorset District Council, Robert Gould said:
“The Stratton House campus has been sold subject to contract. Until the sale is completed it would be inappropriate to name the buyer or disclose the sale amount.
“As part of its search for savings West Dorset District Council downsized to smaller, greener and more modern offices at Charles Street, Dorchester.
“The new £9.7million offices, completed £1 million under budget, have significantly lower running costs than the collection of buildings at the Stratton House complex. The annual savings made will help the authority protect key services and keep council tax down.”
