Sunny Spells and Clear Skies Welcome Weekend Footy
8:41am 22nd February 2014
Still plenty to play for among our non-league teams with 2 months of games left in the 2013/14 campaign.
Dorchester Town have hit the road to take on Tonbridge Angels.
The Magpies shocked the league leaders with a win last weekend and will hope to carry some form into this afternoons match (Saturday 22nd February).
The last time the two sides met Phil Simkin's men won 2-1 and a win could lift them out of the bottom 2 for the first time in months.
Elsewhere south of the County Town Weymouth are playing away from home too. They take on Bedford Town who they beat earlier in the season.
The Terras are currently 14th place in the league and all 3 points could lift them back into the top 10.
And Bridport have struggled to get games going so far in 2014 with a string of postponed matches due to the weather. Their scheduled game against Melksham Town at home will be only the second home game they've had this year.
Manager Trevor Senior told Wessex FM the team are ready to get going again;
"The last time we played was the 29th of January which was an away game, we had a home game the Saturday before that, but we're looking at 3 and a half weeks without football. I'm sure the lads will be champing at the bit."
"The pitch might be a little bit heavy but the rain we've had this week hasn't been too bad and with the dry and wind I'm hoping it won't be too bad."
