Magpies And Terras Out To Avenge Defeats
8:12am 8th March 2014
Some big games for our local football teams on this sunny Saturday (8th March).
With the sun shining and temperatures set to rise to 11 degrees it's by far the best weather fans at the Avenue Stadium in Dorchester have seen this side of the season, after weeks of miserable wet weather.
The Magpies are hosting Boreham Wood and they'll be out for revenge after they were thrashed 5-0 by them earlier in the season.
But Phil Simkin's men have been on a terrific run of form lately and are undefeated their last 3 games. Simkin says they're keeping their boots firmly on the ground though;
"We've gotta keep the run going if we have any chance at all of getting out of trouble. We all realise that and will try our best to keep it alive. It's always a pleasure to play at home, the crowds are slowly getting bigger, they're getting behind us and it makes a massive difference to the players."
"We've gotta stop them playing and impose ourselves on them. We have a game plan, I have 2 good reports on them, but as I say we have to stop them playing first."
Elsewhere, in south Dorset Weymouth also have a tough game against Hemel Hempstead who beat them back in September last year.
The Terras have just the one win from their last 5 league matches.
And Bridport's woes continue after a string of cancellations disrupted their schedule.
The Bees are still searching for their first win in 2014.
They take on Hengrove Athletic.
