Weekend Football Preview
8:23am 22nd March 2014
Dorset's non-league football teams are out of the title race but there's still plenty to fight for at the business end of the season.
Dorchester Town remain on the bottom of the Skrill South but have been making progress in their attempt to escape relegation in recent weeks with 3 wins and 4 draws from their past 10 games.
Today they take on Sutton United at the Avenue and the Magpies will take confidence in knowing they beat their opponents earlier in the season and a win could see them jump 3 places up the table.
Speaking to us ahead of the game Manager Phil Simkin told us they'll be without their star captain though;
"Unfortunately our skipper Mark Jermaine pulled his hamstring on Monday night and he's definitely out for some time so that's something we need to monitor. On the plus side my friends over at Exeter City have loaned me Elliot Chamberlain who's a very experienced and good front player, he will be with us until the end of the season and he will play tomorrow."
Elsewhere in South Dorset Weymouth play their first of two back to back games against Burnham, on the road.
The Terras have been up and down lately but are on a 2 game winning strike and have scored 5 goals their last 2 outings.
And a resurgent Bridport take on Melksham Town.
Trevor Senior's men have a couple of draws and a win under their belt after a disappointing start to 2014.
