Dorset's "Rock on Ruby" Eyeing Hurdle Trophy

A Dorset trained horse has a good chance of winning the 'Irish Champion hurdle', this tea-time.

'Rock On Ruby' is being prepared for the race at Punchestown by staff at Seaborough's Manor Farm Stables, near Beaminster.

Having surrendered his Cheltenham title to arch rival 'Hurricane Fly' in March, trainer Harry Fry is out for revenge.

Fry, Britain's youngest licenced jumps trainer, knows what tactics are needed to make the horse's first trip abroad a success.

He knows the right handed (clockwise) open spaces of Punchestown is a very different course to the left handed (anti-clockwise)undulations of Cheltenham.

'It still gonna be a bit of a stamina test. We'll ensure it is. He's a staying 2-miler and we'll make sure it's that, and we'll ride him to suit our strengths rather than Hurricane Fly's turn it into a crawl followed up by a sprint up the straight.'
