Wessex FM teamed up with Dorchester BID (Business Improvement District)  on Wednesday to support their new initiative to make Dorchester a plastic- free town by offering subsidised reusable shopping bags instead. We invited listeners to bring us their plastic carrier bags to be recycled and swapped for environmentally friendly canvas bags. Wessex FM's Jason Herbert, along with Phil Gordon from Dorchester BID, gave away the bags and talked about the BID's project to rejuvenate and sustain Dorchester town centre by addressing issues such as parking, recycling, street cleaning and tourism with the help of local businesses.
