Thank you for all of your donations to the Wessex FM Monkey Towel Appeal for Monkey World.

Thousands of towels, blankets, and linens were donated, and we would like to thank our drop off locations and their staff:  Asda in Weymouth, Morrison's in Bridport, Value House in Wyke Regis, and Maggie's Munchies in the Colwell Centre.

Thank you to everyone who made a donation, including all the schools and workplaces who held their own collections.

About Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre

  • Monkey World is home to over 240 primates of 17 different species, and is the largest primate rescue centre in the world.
  • Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim Cronin to provide a permanent stable home for abused Spanish chimpanzees.  Today, his wife, Dr Alison Cronin, MBE, continues to work with foreign governments worldwide to stop the illegal smuggling of primates from Africa, Asia, and South America.
  • Monkey World relies upon visitor entry fees and donations in order to continue its work in the rescue and rehabilitation of primates worldwide.
