AND - Pete Budd from the Wurzles will be chatting about the bands new single which they'll be playing at The Great Dorset Steam Fair.

“The Wurzels have been performing at the Great Dorset Steam Fair for the best part of 40 years and it’s long association with the band has been integral in the Steam Fair becoming the largest Steam Fair in the World” Martin Oliver, Managing Director, Great Dorset Steam Fair

The bands new single is the story of the infamous 1921 Aveling and Porter steam roller “Old Rosie” which was named after the Laurie Lee book “Cider with Rosie” and has been a permanent fixture at the Fair since it’s humble beginnings in 1969.

The song tells the true story of the steam roller being found in a rusty state after years of neglect and its finders vision to one day restore the engine and bodywork to her former glory and of the proud day when his dream becomes a reality as she rolls up to the Greatest Steam Show on Earth in Dorset.

The song has also led to a partnership with Westons Cider who own the actual traction engine that the song is written about and the company plan to feature the song in a summer cider campaign. The band’s new video features the iconic engine based at the Westons Cider Mill in Much Marcle, Herefordshire.  Old Rosie also gives its name to Westons leading authentic and traditional cloudy cider.

The Wurzels continue to entertain audiences every year throughout the UK with over 80 gigs at key local events such as The Weston Super Mare Grand Pier Extravaganza, Cider Race Night at Bath Racecourse, and also stadium events in conjunction with Bath Rugby and Bristol City completing the August Bank holiday at the Great Dorset Steam Fair on the 25th.
