Strictly Ballroom for Weldmar 2015
23rd November 2015
Two years ago, I took part in the first Strictly Ballroom for Weldmar Hospice, and it was incredible, fun, exhilerating, and downright scary!
This weekend, it was back, and eight new local couples with no dance experience took up the challenge, spending sixteen weeks training for the routine to be performed in from of 500 people at Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, and most importantly raising money for Weldmar Hospice,
Together, they raised an amazing £23,000!
Daniel Smy and Sandra Wayman were crowned champions, and I caught up with them straight after:

A Wessex Word Winner!
17th November 2015
Well done to Marian Napper from Broadmayne - the latest Wessex Word winner!
She correctly guessed that Simon Le Bon said 'Deadline', which won her £220 to spend on presents for the grandchildren!
Remember - I hand deliver the Wessex Word money on the day we get a right answer, and here's Marian with her cheque less than three hours after giving me a call!

Christmas appeal for the homeless in Dorset
13th November 2015
I was delighted to welcome ten year old Missy Seal-Joyce and mum Natalie on the Breakfast Show today.
Missy came up with the idea of launching an appeal for the homeless in Dorset this Christmas, so she came in to tell me all about it.
You can listen to the interview and find out more by clicking here.

Celebrating success for adult learners
5th November 2015
I was very chuffed to be asked to present certificates to adult learners at Weymouth College today!
I was invited along to the town centre campus, and helped present the certificates to those passing IT and Maths exams.
It was fabulous to hear all their stories - many had thought they were too old to learn new skills, or had been able to perform well in job interviews thanks to what they learnt, and all of them were extremely complimentary of the team!
Well done everyone!
