Thank you for helping us raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance on Bring A Pound To Work Day!

It's still not too late to pay in your collection, or indeed make a donation to help the Air Ambulance stay operating and saving lives in the county.

So far, we've raised almost £4000!

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is a registered charity, established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance.  They receive no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely entirely on the generosity of the public for support.

Every mission that the Air Ambulance flies costs around £2500

Since launching in March 2000, they have flown more than 12,000 missions.  They are tasked by the Ambulance Service through the normal '999' emergency process and can attend up to eight or nine incidents in a single day during the summer months.

Their airbase is situated at Henstridge on the Dorset / Somerset border. From there, they can be at any point in the two counties in less than 20 minutes of receiving an emergency call. More importantly, the helicopter can then take a patient to any one of the Major Trauma Centres in the south west within a further 20 minutes.
