The Weymouth College Sport and Public Services department is an ambitious, forward-thinking department that is renowned nationally for outstanding success. In 2014 and 2016, the Sport provision was awarded an AoC Beacon Award, followed by being shortlisted for the Times Educational Supplement Contribution to the local community award in 2018. This is an exciting time to join a high-performing department and we are seeking a proactive, dynamic practitioner to join our team and continue to relentlessly pursue the highest standards for our students. We are passionate about teaching, learning and assessment and as such, critical to this post, the post-holder will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner, with the ability to be flexible and teach a range of Sport and/or Uniformed Public Services subjects. Particular specialisms in Health and Fitness (Nutrition, Fitness Testing, Sport Injuries) would be advantageous. The department itself offers sport programmes from L2, through to our level 4/5 Foundation degree’s. Your remit will primarily focus on Level 2 to 3 students, however the ability to work closely with other Course Leaders/Tutors responsible for Higher Education is essential to ensure outstanding progression opportunities for students.
