Ancestors of WW1

We wish to hear from descendants of people that fought in WW1 who lived in the Bridport area. We would like to know the story of how they came back bought up families and worked in the bridport area and how they contributed to making what bridport is today. This is part of our 100th commemorations not only to remember those that died, but those that came back. These stories will be shared at our commemoration event on Nov 11th.

Hello everyone, in memory of my beloved late-son I have decided to get a short hair cut so that I can donate my long hair to The Little Princess Trust. This amazing charity makes human hair wigs for children with cancer whilst going through chemotherapy.

On 27th November 2018, I will be saying goodbye to my long blonde hair and saying 'hello' to the new me! Please help me to raise awareness and funds for this very worthwhile cause. Thank you.

Redbox Project Weymouth,Portland and Dorchester

Welcome to the Red Box Project, an initiative that quietly ensures that no young woman misses out on her education because of her period. Red Box projects have been set up across the country with the aim to supply schools with personal hygiene products to ensure that all girls have access to them, so that girls are not forced to miss school days because they cannot afford sanitary wear. We have recently started this project in Weymouth, Portland and for Dorchester and desperately need funds or donation points.

Age UK Dorchester needs volunteers to 'Reach Out'

Age UK Dorchester has need of volunteers to join its
Reach Out service to provide company and social support for older people.

Our volunteers can help people to find out about activities, groups and clubs, and go along with them until they feel confident enough to attend on their own.

If you:
 Are a good listener
 Have some spare time to give
 Enjoy volunteering
 Like meeting new people
 Be prepared to visit people at home
 Would like to make a difference to the life of an isolated older person
