'Flying the Concorde'. A talk by Captain Tony Yule, British Airways Concorde pilot on 14 October at 7pm in the Dorford Centre, Top O’ Town, 2 Bridport Road, Dorchester DT1 1RR.
Tony joined the RAF, and at the end of his service, joined British Airways, where he flew Concorde for a number of years.
Whether you have flown on it, or just stood spellbound on the ground seeing this magnificent plane taking off or landing, this will be an historic talk on the legacy of surely one of the most beautiful planes ever to grace our skies.
This talk is being given to raise money for the installation and dedication of a stained glass memorial window in Holy Trinity Church Warmwell, in memory of those who served at RAF Warmwell between 1937 and 1946.
It is proposed that the window will be installed to replace the plain glass window in the SW corner of the Church, overlooking the Commonwealth War Graves where some who served at RAF Warmwell are buried.
The window design by Dorchester based Jon Callan, will be on show.
Tickets are £15 for one, or £25 for two, (to include soft drinks and nibbles,) are available on the door. (Cheque and cash only please – no cards).
