About:
Paul Stickler is a criminologist and retired senior detective. He guides us through the investigation of the famous case of the death of actress Gay Gibson, leaving us to decide on the guilt or otherwise of the man considered responsible for her death.
In 1947 Gay disappeared while on the MV Durban Castle bound for Southampton from Cape Town. This presentation follows the life and last known movements of the victim and explores the account provided by the man tried for her murder and his extraordinary behaviour in throwing her body overboard through a cabin porthole. The trial of the first-class deck steward has a fascinating aftermath and the presentation includes information believed not previously revealed in the public domain.
