About:

On Sunday 17th May 2020, the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club will be holding a “March for Men” along Weymouth seafront as part of a nationwide series of marches being organised by the Prostate Cancer UK charity and by groups and individuals

The objective of this event is to raise much needed funds, to raise awareness of prostate cancer and to help save the lives of men. It will be a family event, it will not be competitive, and marchers will have the option of turning around at three different locations, depending on how far they wish to walk: the Pier Bandstand, the Groyne (opposite Sea Life) or the Oasis Café at the end of Preston Beach Road.
Currently one man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer in the UK. That’s more than 11,500 men a year and by 2030, prostate cancer is set to become the most commonly diagnosed cancer of all in the UK. The money raised will help us fund research for real change, from more effective testing to better treatments. So, walk alongside us and help stop prostate cancer being a killer.
