Funding Agreed To Help New Business Start Ups In Dorset

A total of £15,000 worth of funding has been secured by WSX Enterprise and Dorset Growth Hub to support local businesses.

Two organisations have secured £15,000 worth of funding between them, to help support local business start-ups in Dorset.

West Dorset District Council's Executive Committee has approved £12,000 for WSX Enterprise and £3,000 for the Dorset Growth Hub.

Councillor Anthony Alford, West Dorset District Council Leader, told Wessex FM: "It is great news that West Dorset District Council continues to support and invest in training for local businesses to build a stronger local economy."

WSX Enterprise provides start up courses in business planning, marketing, and finance.

A business support programme, Dorset Growth Hub offers business information, advice and guidance.

Chris Darlow, WSX enterprise Programme Manager, said: "WSX Enterprise is extremely grateful to West Dorset District Council for the financial support provided which will enable us to deliver a high value business start-up workshop programme for West Dorset in 2015.

"Last year's programme was incredibly successful and WSX look forward to continuing to provide the essential guidance and information to enable new West Dorset businesses to survive and thrive."
