Weymouth College students are taking part in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event today (5th February) to pitch their business ideas to local investors who are ready to invest money into start-up businesses.

Students at Weymouth College will be hoping to be knights in shining armour as they enter the Dragon's Den today and pitch their business ideas to local investors.

They're taking part in the 'Route to Work' programme that's being run by Young Enterprise to give students the chance to set up and manage their own business.

Student Involvement Officer Lauren Howfield said: "We are delighted that our students are involved in this programme and we are supporting them in every way we can to help them succeed with their venture."

"The College is committed to providing its students with an enriched learning experience, and values extra-curricular employability programmes such as the 'Route to Work' by Young Enterprise."

Several students have set up 'Block Money Clothing' selling designer t-shirts and they're already raised funds for the business by selling shares and agreeing to sell their products in a local skate shop. (As pictured.)

The pupils are taking on schools and colleges from across the county and the most innovative and profitable business will be named the winner.
