A finance trustee is needed to help steer the development of an exciting new Shire Hall attraction in Dorchester.

A multi million pound project to create a new visitor attraction in Dorchester is looking for a finance trustee.

The Shire Hall would be a justice themed exhibition, which would incorporate the historic courtroom and cells where the Tolpuddle Martyrs went on Trial.

Project leaders are ideally looking for a chartered accountant to take full responsibility for running the attraction.

West Dorset District Council has so far committed 1 point 1 million pounds to the project – they’ll find out in the summer whether there’ll get further funding from the Heritage Lottery.

London Dorchester Committee Trust Chairman John Russell said:

“This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a unique project which will bring to life the trials that happened in Dorset in years gone by.

“It’s a vital role and we’re looking for someone with experience, skills, and expertise in financial management, asset management and property law, as well as an understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.

“If you’ve got the passion, skills and commitment to get involved then we’re interested in hearing from you.”

Potential trustees can contact John Russell for an informal discussion about the role and responsibilities on 01308 423013 or russell156@gmail.com
