Weymouth College Kicks Off National Apprenticeship Week

Weymouth College is holding an Apprenticeship Fair this morning to start a week of national events aimed at showing how the schemes can benefit businesses.

National Apprenticeship week kicks off at Weymouth College this morning with an Apprenticeship fair.

The college has 40 young apprentices working in different departments.

There'll holding a free employer exhibition this morning with speeches later from key speakers including Lord Digby Jones.

Sarah Ford is a solicitor from Battens who have a stand at the college today.

"Hannah was our first apprentice about three and a half years ago and from there we have progressed in the firm to have about 6 or 7 other apprentices throughout the firm who are dealing with all kinds of different matters.  We feel it gives local people the chance to get a job with a local firm."
