Bluebird Care Dorset has announced a new grant scheme to help projects supporting elderly people in the county.

Bluebird Care Dorset has announced a new grant scheme to help projects supporting elderly people in the county.

Up to £250 pounds a month is being offered to be-friending services and lunch clubs, with no limit on how many times schemes can apply.

The funding is also available to services supporting people with learning or physical disabilities.

Applications for the first round of funding are currently open and close on the 31st March.

Co-Director of Bluebird Care Dorset, Joanne McMahon, said: "We are keen to welcome applicants for the £250 grant to fund either ongoing work, the launch of a new project, or a one-off event such as a day trip. As the grant will be available on a monthly basis, there is no limit to the amount of times the same good cause can apply.

"We recognise that each month we will face a difficult task in determining who to award the grant to, as we expect that there will be many highly deserved applications. This is why we wished to run the project on a monthly basis so that, over the course of time, there will be few, if any, that are overlooked."

The grant can be accessed through completing the simple form available to download, from the Bluebird Care Dorset website. You can find this here: www.bluebirdcare.co.uk/Our-Dorset-Offices
