Superfast Dorset needs volunteer Digital Champions to help people in Weymouth and the surrounding areas to discover and enjoy all the benefits of being connected.

Superfast Dorset are looking for voluntary digital champions to help people in Weymouth and surrounding areas discover the perks of being connected to fibre optic broadband.

Residents have been invited to have an informal chat with the team this Wednesday (18th March) 10.30am to 12 noon at Coffee#1 in Weymouth.

Expertise is not necessary, but simply an aspiration to inspire people to explore and learn about the benefits of the web or assisting with basic skills like emailing or browsing the web.

Almost all of Weymouth can now access fibre broadband, with the Superfast Dorset programme recently providing access in Upwey, Broadwey, Overcombe, Preston and Osmington. Coverage of fibre broadband has also been extended in central Weymouth and along the Esplanade. From accessing education and applying for jobs, to buying and selling online, superfast broadband will allow people to do more online than ever before.

If you can't imagine a life without the internet, then share your skills and help get everyone in Weymouth and the surrounding areas get connected. Volunteer to become a Digital Champion and see what a difference you can make.

For further information or if you'd like to come to Coffee #1 on 18 March, contact Wendy Maggs on w.maggs@poole.gov.uk or call 01202262300.
