Bosses from Dorset bus operator First Wessex will be out and about in Dorchester today getting feedback from customers about the changes to services which are being brought in this sunday.

They are particularly focusing on the Number Ten which runs between Dorchester and Weymouth.

The managers will be in Brewery Square this morning between ten and one.

Copies of the new Dorset timetables will also be available.

Simon Newport, General Manager of First Wessex, said: "Service 10 is one of our most popular services so we need to meet both the demand from customers and ongoing challenges with traffic congestion in both Weymouth and Dorchester. To achieve these goals, we have increased the morning peak frequency to every 10 minutes and every 12 minutes for the rest of the day, Monday to Friday.

"Most buses will now start in Portland and run through to Dorchester during week day morning peak times. The  evening timetable also connects Service 10 at Kings Statue in Weymouth with Service 1 to Portland which runs every seven to eight minutes. On Saturdays, they will continue to operate every 15 minutes and every 30 minutes on Sunday."

"We are delighted that we have been able to improve Service 10 even further and we hope customers will come along to find out more about the many enhancements we have been making to all our Dorset routes for the forthcoming summer months."
