Wessex Water have announced they will be taking on 40 new apprentices in their biggest recruitment drive to date.

The opportunities are in a range of roles, including: engineering, construction, operations, computing, customer service and analytical science.

Ashlea Lane, General Manager of Supply Services and ex-apprentice himself, said: "My apprenticeship allowed me to secure a career at a great company where I have been able to advance through the organisation.

"I would absolutely recommend the apprenticeship route to others.

"My experience is that an apprenticeship was much more tailored to my interests and style of learning and allowed me to gain experience and skills while gaining qualifications."

The company will be holding an open day at their regional operations centre in Bath on Saturday 12th March, between 10am and 1pm.

Becca Thurston, apprenticeship co-ordinator at Wessex Water, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for people to gain experience, learn new skills, study towards a qualification and start a career with a Wessex Water apprenticeship.

"Never before have we recruited so many apprentices working in different areas of our business.  It means whatever your interest, the likelihood is we have an apprenticeship for you."

The growth of the apprentice programme will help support the Government's aim of employing 3 million new appentices by 2020.
