The Minister of State for Business, Innovation and Skills has been in Dorset.

MP Nick Boles paid a visit to Weymouth College to see with his own eyes how things had turned around for the better over the last twelve months.

He also got to see how apprenticeships and traineeships have proved a huge success for students in south and west dorset.

Mister Bowles was joined by South Dorset MP Richard Drax and college chief executive Nigel Evans at the annual apprentice fair.

National Apprentice Week encourages employers to celebrate the achievements of their apprentices and recommend to other businesses the benefits of providing an Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are a nationwide scheme enabling young people and adult learners to earn while they learn at the same time as studying towards nationally recognised qualifications.

They also enable businesses to attract new talent, motivate their workforce, improve productivity and achieve organisational growth.
