A request for £50,000 to be spent on looking at how Dorchester Town Centre can be redeveloped will go before West Dorset District Council's Executive Committee next week.

The request comes from the Charles Street Working Group.

They want to spend the money on appointing a new consultant to explore options to make Dorchester Town Centre a more "regionally important retail destination".

It's after the end of their development agreement with Simons which only saw West Dorset District Council's new offices being built.

The working group wants to appoint GL Hearn Consultancy at a cost of £25,000, they also want to spend a further £25,000 from the fund.

£379,000 remains allocated but unspent from the £1.4M Charles Street Development Fund.

The Executive Committee will look at the proposals on the 12th April.
