The Best of Dorset Show 2016 has been officially launched, with representatives from Weymouth & Portland Borough Council joining this year's event to showcase the new 'Club Market Zone'.

Visitors will be get the chance to discover plenty of new attractions, with more than a dozen local businesses having already signed up to promote the services they offer.

Martin Gershon, owner of Jurassic Electric Bikes, which will be at the event, said: "This gives us exposure to members of the public, to visitors and local residents.

"We can tell people about our guided tours, which are fairly unique because they're on electric bikes, and also bike sell is a part of our business as well, so it's a great opportunity for us as a business.

"We started off very small with a few bikes and now we have a whole fleet of electric bikes, which means we can take people around some of the most beautiful countryside in West Dorset.

"We are very lucky to be able to do that and people of all ages and all abilities that come with us can enjoy the experience."

Other exhibitors booked for this year's show include Bluebird Coaches, Monkey World, National Trust, South Dorset Caledonians Society, Indigo Press, Let's Dance, Nothe Fort, SLM Weymouth Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, The Utility Warehouse Discount Club, Weymouth BID Ltd, WOW Youth Theatre, Weymouth and Portland Lions Club, Weymouth Museum and Weymouth and Portland Model Boat Club.

"This annual event offers local businesses and attractions an excellent opportunity to promote their services and boost their business.

"Once again we are delighted to have a great line-up of local performers at this year's show."

This year the team for the show will be 'Membership Market', aiming to promote clubs and charitable organisations in the area, who run activities and events, funded through public donations, to support the local community.
