Room To, the Dorchester restaurant based at the Wessex Royale Hotel, has launched its own local produce guide outlining its use of local produce and suppliers.

A Dorchester restaurant has launched its own produce guide.

'Room To' based at the Wessex Royale Hotel was recently awarded an AA Rosette, after inspectors commented on their use of seasonal produce.

The guide outlines their main suppliers and details why they think buying locally sourced ingredients are important.

Said Steve Chaldecott, Manager of The Wessex Royale: "Our Chef, Nick Cherry, and his team use local seasonal produce whenever possible and the guide tells more about this. We also feel our local suppliers are key so the guide outlines how we get our meat from Little Angus Butchers in Grimstone and our fish from Samways in West Bay. Their motto is from port to plate in just 24 hours. Also who supplies our speciality foods plus our fruit and vegetables. We felt all of this was important enough to produce our own local produce guide."
