Dorchester Arts is delighted that no less than four local businesses have pledged their support for its autumn season.

Dorchester Arts is delighted that no less than four local businesses have pledged their support for its autumn season. All four companies are very different, but all have recognised the importance of ensuring that a wide range of arts performances are available in the heart of the town.

Long term supporters Battens Solicitors are again sponsoring the season of drama, which includes the return of the amazing Kinetics by local playwright Sue Wylie; as well as Why the Whales Came - popular children's theatre by Michael Morpurgo - and an outrageous version of A Christmas Carol by Living Spit.

Brewery Square is to support five comedy performances; two of which - Jenny Éclair and Jon Richardson - sold out within a day!  But there are Seann Walsh, Mark Steel and Jo Caulfield to look forward to.

Dorchester Arts first jazz festival will take place in November around the town, sponsored by Cote Brasserie. Performances include Molly and the Owl, a jazz fairy tale for children as well as shows by internationally acclaimed singer Joe Stilgoe and the Darius Brubeck Quartet.

Finally, Parkers Property Consultants and Valuers are Dorchester Arts' overall Communications Sponsor, helping Dorchester Arts to promote all that it does, from public performances to children's workshops and fundraising events.

Jacky Thorne, Dorchester Arts Fundraising Manager, said: 'Without corporate support from companies such as these, Dorchester Arts would not be able to fulfil its aim of putting the arts at the heart of the County Town. We look forward to a very successful season, both for Dorchester Arts and our generous sponsors.'
