A Dorchester jewellery business has made it to the final of a prestigious local industry award, and needs your help to win the top prize.

Goldcrest Jewellers, in the Hardye Arcade, is up for the People's Choice gong at the 2016 Dorset Wedding Supplier Awards.

"It's an absolute honour," said Neil Strudwick who jointly runs the business with his wife Donna.

"We're up against bigger companies in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Wimborne. We feel like a little fish in a big pond," added Donna.

Goldcrest Jewellers were established in 2010. They are a small independently  run family business and were shortlisted to make wedding rings for Prince William and Kate Middleton. They offer collections of diamond rings and wedding bands as well as ordering and commissioning jewellery. They also offer repair and cleaning services for watches and other forms of jewellery.

Asked what it would mean to win, Donna told Wessex FM: "We'll be over the moon. It would be out of this planet!"

"Just to bring home that trophy and put it in the window to show everybody our hard work and backing from the public. It will be brilliant," said Neil.
