The advice - especially for vulnerable members of the community - comes as part of Big Energy Saving Week.

Dorset Community Action will be telling us how we can keep warm and save money on energy.

The advice - especially for vulnerable members of the community - comes as part of Big Energy Saving Week.

Simon Thompson of DCA said: "This project is aimed at everyone, but vulnerable people in particular, offering them energy advice and helping them to get a better deal by either changing tariff or switching supplier, besides checking that they are getting the right benefits".

Dorset Community Action is working closely with other local organisations which make up the "Dorset Fuel Poverty Partnership" - Citizen's Advice in Dorset, Age UK, Wyvern Savings and Loans,  Magna Housing and Dorset AONB -  to support people worried about their fuel bills and needing advice.

"With our partners, will be running a number of sessions from now until March giving everyone an opportunity to receive important energy saving information which they can pass use themselves and pass on to family and friends", Simon Thompson added.

If community groups would like to host a half hour Big Energy session at their meetings,  lunch groups,  or other social gatherings they should contact Dorset Community Action at the Coach House, Acland Road, Dorchester Tel. 01305-216412 or e.mail  simon.thompson@dorsetcommunityactuon.org.uk
