Sue McVety retires after 15 years at Maiden Castle House

Staff and residents at Care South’s Maiden Castle House care home in Dorchester have said their fond farewells to their much loved Care Assistant, Sue McVety who is retiring from the role after 15 years.

The home celebrated Sue’s years of service and hard work with a farewell party, attended by staff and residents. Sue was also presented with cards and gifts and a cake was made especially for her by the home’s kitchen team.

Commenting on her forthcoming retirement, Sue said: “It will feel very strange not working any more after all these years and I’m sure I’ll shed a few tears over the next few days. But I’m looking forward to spending more time with my husband, Keith, and having the chance to focus on my home and family.”

Home Manager at Maiden Castle House, Caroline Bacon, commented: “We would like to wish Sue the very best for her retirement and thank her for her years of service to Maiden Castle House. We are going to miss her warm and caring nature very much.”

Sue first joined Maiden Castle House as a Care Team leader at the old home in Maiden Castle Road, before transferring to the present home when it opened.
