Bridport family brewers Palmers have once again been announced as the main sponsors of Dorchester Beerex.

Dorchester Beerex will once again be held in Dorchester Corn exchange on Friday February 3rd and Saturday February 4th now in its 29th year.

The event is organised by volunteers from West Dorset CAMRA (Campaign for real ale) and Dorchester Roundtable. The festival will be showcasing over 85 real ales and ciders from around the U.K whilst supporting local breweries and cider makers.

This year organisers are pleased to announce that the Bridport family brewery Palmers are to be the main sponsor for the third year running. Palmers have over 200 years of brewing heritage under their belt and are looking forward to be part of this premier event.

Sales Managing Director Cleeves Palmer said "Palmers Brewery are delighted to sponsor The 2017 Dorchester Beerex, our third year in a row. This is a very special event for all ale lovers and it could not be in a better venue, right in the heart of Dorset. I hope that the weekend raises plenty of money for the local good causes that are vitally in need of the financial support that this event generates. My best wishes to all ale lovers who attend this weekend of ale celebration."

The main benefactor from monies raised at the 2017 event will be local charity Mosaic, who specialise in bereavement support for children, young people and their families. They also work with young people facing the death of a family member.

The 2017 Dorchester Beerex committee chairman Adrian Patterson said: "We're very pleased to be supporting Mosaic - the only specialist child bereavement service in Dorset.  Money raised will go towards Mosaic's Residential weekend in October 2017 giving children, young people and their parent(s) the opportunity to have fun, take part in activities, talk to others about what's happened in their lives and remember people close to them who have died."

To date Dorchester Beerex has raised in excess of £140,000 to local charities and good cause's. The committee rely on good will of local business's to sponsor a barrel if you would like to find out more and be part of this event please call Dave Harris on  07977918130  or visit
