A Weymouth business woman is celebrating her first anniversary of owning the company she worked for for 13 years.

Medipost - which supplies medical and nursing equipment was acquired by Debby Macdonald back in April 2016.

The former owners decided to sell after their lease ran out on their premises.

Now based at Oxford Court on the Granby, Medipost has 5 full time members of staff and is looking to expand.

Debby approached Mickey Jones, Chief Executive of DJ Property and asked for advice on renewing the lease before agreeing to purchase the business.

Debby Macdonald, Owner of Medipost said: "Mickey gave up his time to review the existing lease and gave me valuable free advice on alternative leasing options and other business units that were available on the Granby.  At the time Mickey was not my landlord so I really appreciated his time and advice before I made some very big decisions about the acquisition of Medipost.  I am very pleased that I made the right choice and I signed up for a new lease in September 2016 at Unit 4 Oxford Court. The new unit gives me lots of space, free parking and easy access for deliveries and distribution.  I was born in Weymouth so I am very pleased that I found premises which allow me to build my business in Dorset."

Mickey Jones, Chief Executive of DJ Property said: "I was delighted when Debby approached me for advice about her existing lease.   The Medipost business model is an interesting one and it was essential that Debby found the right unit, at the right price in the right location.  The health, well-being, nursing and social care sector is growing very fast and it is essential that we have good support businesses, such as Medipost locally."
