Published at 8:57am 23rd May 2018.

It will look at diversity, equality and inclusion.

An equality scheme for Dorset County Council is expected to be adopted by the council’s later.

The updated policy document will set out how the authority will meet its legal duties under the 2010 Equality Act promoting “diversity, equality and inclusion as service providers and employers.”

Under the scheme the council will have to publish information to show how it complied with the legislation.

The details of the document have been developed with the help of a range of staff groups and the Forum for Equality and Diversity which represents Dorset’s diverse communities.

Amongst the objectives of the plan are diversity and inclusion training for staff and elected councillors.

The document is recommended for approval at today's Cabinet meeting in Dorchester (23rd May)
