Discussions Held Over Off Shore Windfarm
9:12am 19th June 2013
The decision over whether to have an offshore wind park in the sea off Dorset's Coast has been discussed at an information meeting.
Around 80 people turned up last week to learn more about the Navitus Bay Wind Park development, which would see over 200 wind turbines being built.
Speakers from places that already have wind turbines went over some of the pros and cons - and now a third public consultation has been announced for September.
Bridget Betts from the Dorset Coast Forum told us more. "There has been some excellent feedback with delegates really appreciating the range in speakers, especially those from other areas of the United Kingdom that already have experience in offshore wind farm development."
She added: "A wind park is like Marmite, people even love them or hate them. But I don't think there's any debate that we have to do more with renewable energy, it's just what form that energy comes in, and that's where the issues often lie."
