Dorset's Hedgehogs Under Threat

Hedgehog

8:03am 7th August 2013

Dorset's hedgehog population is in serious danger according to a local animal group.

Recent surveys show the hedgehog population has declined by 40% in our region.

The Dorset Mammal Group is encouraging residents in Bridport to create the county's first-ever Hedgehog Town, by joining up hedgehog-friendly streets around the town and setting up a monitoring programme for this animal.

If successful, the Group would like to roll-out the scheme to other communities across Dorset.

The group is hosting a special event where you can find out more at Bridport's Town Hall next Friday (16th August).
