Auditions Held For Hardy Film Extras

9:01am 11th August 2013

Julie Christie famously starred in Far from the Madding Crowd filmed in Dorset back in the 60's - but now Director Thomas Vinterberg will give his take on the Thomas Hardy novel.

The people behind the film are in Bridport today.

Open casting sessions are being held at the W.I Hall on North Street in Bridport. DT6 3JQ

Doors will open at 9.15am and will be finished by 18.30.

Organisers recommend people try to come early as there can sometimes be long queues. You may be disappointed if you arrive late.

Here's what they're looking for:

Males - Aged 17 - 40 years - mid to longer length hair, at least 1.5inches at back. (Still time to grow it). Beards, again still time to grow. No visible tattoos (hands, face, forearms) - small ones may be ok.

Males - Aged 40 - 65 years - mid to longer length hair, beards and/or moustaches. No visible tattoos.

Females - 17 - 50 years. Longer natural style hair. No dyed colours or modern cuts. Natural highlights are ok. Hands/Nails should be natural. Natural looking (minimal/no make-up).

They will also be looking for people with specific skills, anyone with Sheep Shearing ability (particularly using hand shearing scissors) and people comfortable around livestock.

There will be a separate casting for children and other ages. We may measure any children who are attending with parents but will be prioritising adults so please don't be put off if we are not able to take their details on this occasion as there will be another opportunity.
