Portland Teenager Takes Academy Plight To Number 10

A former Portland student starts a trek on foot, by bike and by kayak to Downing Street today.

16-year-old Adam Greaves sets out from Osprey Quay at midday to raise support for Portland Academy Campus to be built at Southwell Business Park.

He's to walk to Dorchester then cycle to Newbury before kayaking along the Avon and Kennett Canal.

He's hoping to arrive in Downing Street on August 27th when he intends handing in a petition and letters of support, after Weymouth and Portland Councillors turned down a planning application for it.
