Weymouth Sailing Club is celebrating its 100th birthday with £4,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
In the Centenary Exhibition project many historical items will be on display dating back to 1913.
This includes an original wooden Falcon Dinghy and a digital photo archive of the club's history with the original founding as the Franklin Sailing club.
Exhibition organiser She Taylor said: "We're thrilled that the Heritage Lottery Fund has given us this grant.
"The club has been a vibrant part of Weymouth life for one hundred years and the centenary is great point to celebrate our history.
"We hope the exhibition will engage the local community and bring our story to life."
Nerys Watts, Head of the Heritage Lottery Fund South West, said: "We at the Heritage Lottery Fund are delighted to be supporting Weymouth Sailing Club with this exciting exhibition.
"People will now be able to explore and better appreciate the Club's 100-year history and the important role it has played in the local community over the last century."
The exhibition will run every day from Saturday 31st August until Saturday 7th September in the club's Longshed, next to the Lifeboat Station.
