Garrison Signs Mental Health Pledge

Army matron signs Time for Change

11:26am 10th September 2013
(Updated 2:46pm 10th September 2013)

Bovington has the first military Medical Centre in the country to sign a pledge to tackle  the stigmas and discrimination associated with mental health.

Matron Vanessa Crossey signed up yesterday as part of the 'Time For Change' initiative, and hopes her NHS colleagues at other medical centres, both military and civilian, will follow suit.

Major Crossey has already been working closely in the community to help set up support services and groups for soldiers and their families.

Other organisations that have pledged include BT, EON, the Premier League, Channel 4, the Church of England,  Comic Relief, Universities, the National Union of Students, local authorities and NHS Trusts.
