(Updated 1:44pm 12th September 2013)

Dorchester Town's Charlie Clough, who put in a transfer request earlier this month, is leaving the club.

Magpies Manager Phil Simkin has confirmed to Wessex FM the defender is off to Sutton United who play in the Conference South.

Clough has Tweeted; "Would like to thank for all the great memories! And i wish everyone at the club all my best wishes."

Simkin paid tribute to the player's performances last season and wished him every success for the future.

He was given an improved contract last season.

The Magpies board of directors told us they were; "upset and disappointed by the player's decision - but have agreed to the request to protect team morale."
