Plans for Charles Street Shopping Centre to be Re-Submitted
1:02pm 13th September 2013
The developers who want to build a shopping centre as part of the Charles Street development are trying to renew their planning application.
Permission for the second phase of the controversial development has now expired.
Developers Simons have taken too long to try and figure out what they want to do on the site that they earmarked for a shopping centre.
They were given outline permission for the second phase way back in 2010.
Since then, the new council offices and the library have been built but their plan to open a host of shops hasn't happened.
Simons has now submitted a new application to renew their planning approval.
