A Dorset housebuilder has won a top award for his work at Poundbury.
Stephen Walker of C G Fry and Son has been named the regional champion for the South West at the annual Pride in the job Awards.
Stephen won in the medium builder category.
The competition is run by the National House Building Council.
NHBC is the UK's leading new-home warranty provider. Jim Lyons, NHBC Regional Director, congratulated Stephen on his win:
"Stephen is absolutely at the top of his game, building some of the best houses in the UK. Site managers are pivotal to the success of any project and rewarding and recognising site managers through Pride in the Job is one of the most important things we do at NHBC.
"The competition has driven up standards in new home construction right across the UK for over three decades. The field of competition is huge, so winning is the definitive mark of success. I wish Stephen the best of luck for the national final."
Along with the champions from eight other UK regions, Stephen now progresses to Pride in the Job's Supreme Gala in London in January 2014 where the nation's Supreme Winners will be announced.
Stephen talked about his win:
"In my work, I enjoy challenging designs and seeing the end results, of good quality. I bring 37 years of experience, a keen eye for detail, and I treat every property as though it's my own."
Stephen has won three previous Pride in the Job Awards for his work at Poundbury. With 37 years of experience in house-building, he has work for C G Fry and Son Ltd for the last 22 years.
