A Swanage resident has escaped serious harm after they had their car tyres slashed by vandals.

The damage, to 2 vehicles, happened sometime overnight last weekend on Princess Road (Saturday 14th - Sunday 15th September).

Dorset Police say the tyres were punctured with a sharp implement.

They're trying to track down a man seen walking near the cars in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police Constable Mari Montgomery, of Purbeck police, said: "Both vehicles belong to the same victim and this seems to have been a deliberate act causing great inconvenience."

A man was seen at the location at about 3.30am on the Sunday. He has been described as white, around five feet ten inches tall and of very slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top, light coloured baggy shorts and work type boots.

PC Montgomery continued: "I would like to speak with anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or saw this man in the area during that night.

"Any witnesses and anyone with information about the person responsible should call Dorset Police as soon as possible."
