Man Snatches Money From Dorchester Florist

7:49am 4th October 2013

They've only been open for only three weeks and a new florists in Dorchester has been the victim of a theft in broad daylight.

Marlena Huk, who owns Fantasy Flowers on Trinity Street, had a man grab money out of the cash box just after 12pm on Wednesday the 2nd of October.

Marlena said she spoke to him at the counter whilst giving another customer some change, then when she turned to get some more flowers for a bouquet he's requested, he snatched around £50 out of her money box and ran.

She describes him as tall, clean shaven and wearing a suit and said he went to great lengths to talk to her about her new business and personal life, "He tried to find some similar things between me and him, he said that he had a Polish wife and that they had children. He was really nice, and I never thought that he could do it."

Marlena wants to warn other businesses to be wary, "Please be careful about the people who try and be really nice to you. I feel so sad, I tried to get some new customers, and it's quite slow to run a new business in Dorchester."

However she said her opinion of the market town hadn't changed, "It was one time, and I really like Dorchester, I just hope it doesn't happen to anyone else."
