Help To Keep Your Energy Bills Down This Winter

7:47am 15th October 2013

Making simple changes to your home like draught-proofing and using low energy lightbulbs could have you cutting your bills this winter as energy companies put their prices up.

Dorset Community Action has put together two guides to help households become more energy efficient this winter.

The Energy Efficient guide explains how families can make simple changes and The Affordable Warmth guide focuses on how communities can help households stay warm and not fall into fuel poverty.

They also explain how government initiatives such as the Green Deal and the Energy Company Obligation can help with bigger costs like paying for boilers or loft insulation.

Alex Picot, Chief Executive of Dorset Community Action said: "With winter fast approaching, many families will be thinking about how they can cut their energy bills.

"These guides are a good places to start, with plenty of advice and ideas."
