A Weymouth bus driver who's spent over a decade of his life ferrying people around South Dorset has been nominated for an industry "Oscar".
Augusto Landi, affectionately known as Gus, drives one of the First Buses around town and has been nominated for Top National Bus Driver at this year's UK Awards.
The 58-year-old is so popular among local customers they set up a Facebook page in his honour which has attracted over a thousand fans.
In the past year, six happy passengers have written letters of commendation expressing their gratitude for his excellent customer service skills.
One said: "I have never met a friendlier, more polite gentleman in my whole time using First's public transport services" while another added: "Gus is always cheerful and polite. A really nice person who lifts everyone's spirits and it is a joy to ride on his bus."
Gus will find out next month if he has won the national bus driver "Oscar" at the UK Bus Awards' presentation ceremony taking place at the London Hilton Hotel on Tuesday 19 November.
