A charity fund set up in the memory of a Dorchester school girl who died in a horse riding accident has now raised 23 thousand pounds.

The total has been boosted by a charity auction held on Friday night at the George Albert Hotel in Evershot.

Ella Pallister died in January in a riding accident - since then friends and family have been fundraising.

The money will be split between the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Southampton Neurology Centre.

Ella's Godmother Mandy Wilkinson told us, they'd like to thank everyone who went along to Friday's auction and says the money is going to good causes;

"On behalf of 'Team Ella P' we would like to thank everyone who has supported us in any way following Ella's tragic accident.

The generosity of all involved has enabled us to raise £23,000 to be split between The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Southampton Neurology Unit.

Ella's Birthday Ball and Charity Auction were a great success.  We are so grateful to all those who donated the fantastic prizes and to those who came to the events.

Special thanks go to Stacey Whitfield and Mandy Bluck for organising the lots and Gary Batt for keeping control of the Auction !

Also our thanks to Lee Worsley of the Kings Arms, Portesham and his band for great entertainment."
