An energy company that wants to put up wind turbines near 2 Dorset villages say the public response to proposals is almost 50/50
Over 250 people viewed the Broadview's plans at an open exhibition last week (Tuesday 22nd October).
The company want to put up 7 turbines on land near Charminster and Charloton Down.
Following the exhibitions, they say the responses broadly reflect earlier survey results which had nearly 42% in favour compared to nearly 48% against or undecided.
The company says they'll consider all public feedback and stay in touch with the community through the design process which they hope to have finalised by early next year.
Broadview is proposing to donate cash to the parish if plans get the go ahead.
Tom Cosgrove, Project Manager at Broadview Energy, said: "We are at a very early stage with our plans but it's important to Broadview that local residents are given the opportunity to be involved in the development process from the outset. We received a lot of helpful feedback at the events which we will be considering in our design and assessment process. We will continue to stay in touch with the community as we progress and we hope to be in a position to finalise our project design, including final turbine numbers, size and positioning early next year."
