It's what we were expecting.
That's the reaction from Wessex Delivery LLP over Weymouth and Portland Borough Council's decision to refuse planning permission for a proposed housing development.
Wessex Delivery wants to build the homes on the site currently occupied by Weymouth Football Club.
They say they remain committed to seeing the project through which would bring 360 jobs and a 30 million pound investment to the town - including a new football stadium.
In a statement to Wessex FM the say:
"This refusal is part of the process which is exactly as we anticipated. Our team is made up of a significant number of leading professionals to manage the issues surrounding the scheme to the most rigorous level.
Wessex Delivery say they also received no official notification letter from the local authority of the planning application rejection.
They add: "Wessex Delivery has a contract to provide an alternative stadium for the town through its agreement with Weymouth Football Club, Therefore the team will continue to work through the official process to achieve a positive outcome."
